Getting started with Information Management (IM)

Information management (IM) provides a system for First Nations-controlled, accurate and responsive record keeping. The First Nations Technology Council is working to determine the unique information management needs of First Nations communities in BC. We have compiled a Getting Started resource collection to assist members considering IM system solutions.

In this resource collection FNBC Knowledge Network members will find:

  • a getting started checklist to help assess the current IM needs and abilities of your community;
  • a brief overview of how Information Management can support Fist Nations governance—this resource discusses how IM provides reactive and meaningful information sharing within First Nation communities

Further reading on these topics can be found on the FNBC Knowledge Network!
