The vision of IBIC is realizing economic reconciliation and well-being for Indigenous peoples in BC. The purpose of IBIC is to serve as an advisory council the Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Compettiveness on actions, strategies, issues and opportunities pertaining to the enhancement of economic development in Indigenous communities in British Columbia. The mandate is to encourage and support economic growth by: • Increasing Indigenous peoples’ participation in the economy; • Promoting Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs; • Inspiring Indigenous and industry partnerships, working towards increased investment and economic activity; • Creating sustainable pathways forward for all British Columbians.
